SEA Games 2017 Venue List

The 29th South Asian Games or the south-east Asian Games which is commonly known as Kuala Lumpur 2017 is all set to begin in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 19 to August 30, 2017. This event is commonly known as Kuala Lumpur 2017. Almost 405 events in 38 sports to be featured in the games. For the sixth time, Malaysia will host the games and its first time since 2001.  The previous edition hosted by Malaysia was 1965 games, 1971 games, 1977 games and the 1989 games.

The hosting duties are rotated among the SEAGF member countries as per the tradition. Each country has its own turn to host the games, but it is not available to bidding. It was during 2012 SEAGF meeting in Myanmar, that Malaysia would host the regional biennial event in 2017 and there should be no other country to bid for the host job. Olympic Council of  Malaysia or OCM secretary Siek Kok Chi also attended the meeting in 2012. He in the meeting also said that Myanmar would host the games in 2013, followed by Singapore in 2015. Brunei was given the opportunity to host the 2017 games but changed to 2019 games instead of 2017.  

SEA Games 2017 Venue List

SEA Games 2017 will be hosted in several states of Malaysia from August 19. Many venues which like Bukit Jail National Sports Complex was soon upgraded after the announcement of SEA Games 2017 Venue.  Also MYR 80 million was spent in a new velodrome Nilai, Negeri Sebilan is set to host track cycling events. The construction was completed on late march 2017 and opened on 26 may 2017. In order to turn the national Sport complex and its sourrounding areas into a sports city more than RM 1.6 billon has been allocated by the host country. By the end of the first phase Bukil Jalil National Stadium will be ready to host the 2017 south east Asian Games.
